A senior attorney with 18 years of practice in Mecklenburg County, Andrew has substantial knowledge and experience in criminal law. In 1992 Andrew began his law career in the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's office where he served as an Assistant District Attorney for four years. Serving in a variety of positions and on several special prosecution teams within the District Attorney's Office provided Andrew with a breadth of knowledge and insights on the complexities of the office. |
Working in the District Attorney's Office provided Andrew with first hand knowledge of the difficult issues that must be addressed on a daily basis as a District Attorney in Mecklenburg County.
Following his service as an Assistant District Attorney, Andrew partnered with Joe Ledford to form Ledford & Murray, P.C. Three years later Andrew joined the firm of Goodman, Carr, Laughrun, Levine, Murray & Green, PA. as an equity partner and later as a managing partner. As managing partner, Andrew successfully leads a fourteen person office that handles an average caseload of 4400 cases a year. Andrew has focused his private practice on litigation matters affecting Charlotte and the surrounding Mecklenburg County area.
Andrew has served his country with distinction as a 29 year member of the United States Coast Guard Active and Reserve forces. Andrew enlisted in the Coast Guard upon completing high school in 1980 and has been an active member of the Coast Guard since 1980. Andrew Served 6 years on active duty as an Aviation Electronic Technician and Helicopter Flight Crewman. Upon completing 6 years of active duty Andrew entered the Coast Guard Reserve Program where he continued his career as a flight crewman. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree in 1989 Andrew was selected for the Coast Guard Reserve Officer Candidate Program. Successfully completing the program in the summer of 1989 Andrew became a Coast Guard Commissioned Officer. He has served as a Coast Guard Officer since 1989 and presently holds the rank of Commander (O-5). He has displayed exemplary performance in a multitude of positions over the years with the most recent being Coast Guard Sector Charleston's Senior Reserve Officer where he was responsible for leading a 220+ member reserve force (2004-2007). Presently Andrew travels frequently to Washington, D.C where he is assigned to the Coast Guard Department of Counter Terrorism and Defense Strategies. Andrew maintains a Top Secret clearance.
Andrew graduated from the University Of North Carolina At Charlotte (Magna Cum Laude) with a Political Science Degree and received his law degree from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) School of Law.
Andrew and his family are active members of Lake Norman Baptist Church (2009-present). Previously, they were members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church from 1989 to 2009. Andrew and his wife Pam have been married for 28 years and have three children: Drew (24) Educated at North Mecklenburg High School and Appalachian State; Derek (18) a senior at North Mecklenburg; Josh (16) a freshman at Lake Norman Christian School.
Andrew also believes in active community participation. Service to our community is important in that it keeps our community together and allows us to give back. Andrew has served as President/Vice president of The Hampton's at Northcross Homeowner's Association (2000-2006). He is presently on the active Board of Lake Norman Christian School (2008-present). Lake Norman Christian is a non-denominational school that presently educates children from kindergarten through ninth grade (160+ students) with plans for expansion and growth.
